Böllhoff Since 1877

1877 Founding by Wilhelm Böllhoff (1848-1924) in Herdecke as a hardware wholesaler for locksmiths, smithies, and industrial users.
1923 Building of a subsidiary in Bielefeld as a result of the French occupation of the Ruhr district Specialization in screws, bolts, and threaded components under the son Josef Böllhoff (1894-1984).
1950 First sales subsidiary in Stuttgart-Fellbach. Concentration on machines, engines, and the automotive industry as well as the construction sector and shipbuilding.
1952 Acquisition of a USA license for thread inserts, HELICOIL®. Building of the first production facility in Bielefeld.
1959 Entrance of the 3rd generation in the Company with Gerhard Böllhoff and Dr. Wolfgang W. Böllhoff.
1964 Founding of production and sales facilities in Mexico and Brazil.
1971 Production and sales facility in France.
1980 Founding of a subsidiary in Italy.
1985 Founding of the subsidiaries in the UK and Spain.
1989 New construction of a central warehouse for 40,000 articles. Building of the second German production facility in Sonnenwalde / Brandenburg.
1990 Founding of a subsidiary in Belgium.
1991 Founding of subsidiaries in Hungary and the Czech Republic.
1992 Founding of a subsidiary in the USA. Building of the "Joseph Böllhoff" Training Center for training and further education in Brazil.
1994 Subsidiary in Poland as a joint venture.
1995 Entrance of the 4th generation in the Company with Wilhelm A. Böllhoff.
1997 Dedication of the "Haus des Kunden" ("House of the Customer", permanent exhibition) on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Company. Founding of a subsidiary in Rumania.
1998 Michael W. Böllhoff joins the Company. New construction of a logistics center in Bielefeld.
1999 Expansion of the production facility in Sonnewalde. Joint venture in Brazil with Neumayer to manufacture nuts, screws, etc. New construction of the Prague subsidiary in the Czech Republic.
2000 Founding of Böllhoff Systemtechnik for the Joining and Screw Technology department. Acquisition of the RIVNUT® production facility in the USA.
2001 Expansion of the production facilities in France and Sonnewald.
2002 125 years of Böllhoff Founding of the China subsidiary.
2003 Building of the south logistics center in Bavaria.
